Speaking in an interview with DAZN after Atlético Madrid beat Real Valladolid 3-0 on Saturday, Antoine Griezmann discussed his recent good spell at the club.
“Atlético is my home. It’s the joy that the people give me, the workers at the club, in the offices, and at the training ground. I enjoy it a lot here with my team-mates and when I have hairstyles like this (pink) it’s because I’m happy and you can see it on the pitch,” he said in words picked up by AS.
“I’m enjoying myself a lot and I just want to thank them [fans] for the affection they give me on the pitch.”
Griezmann, who has been enjoying a successful spell on the pitch, scored and assisted in Atlético’s home victory over Pacheta’s Valladolid.
“I have a lot of freedom, but I always work defensively. When I can do what I see and want, offensively it helps me to be happy, to be at my best physically and the pre-season has been very good for me. I’m enjoying it, I haven’t reached my highest level, but I really enjoy fighting for this coach, these team-mates, this club, and I hope to give more.”
