Another Real Madrid star added to suspension danger list after Man City clash

Real Madrid’s meeting with Manchester City on Tuesday night saw another pivotal member of the club’s squad added to the suspension watchlist, ahead of the tie’s 2nd leg.

Real, of course, are fresh off a return to action on the continent.

After being sent packing from the competition by Man City last time out, Los Blancos welcomed Pep Guardiola’s troops to Madrid once more, on this occasion in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

On their way to a pulsating 3-3 stalemate, the evening’s hosts were left to sweat over the potential availability of four of the club’s stars for the tie’s return leg.

This came with all of Jude Bellingham, Vinícius Jr, Eduardo Camavinga and Aurélien Tchouaméni having been a solitary booking away from a one-game European suspension.

Of this quartet, Tchouaméni went on to pick up another yellow, meaning he will be unavailable to feature at The Etihad next week.

And adding further to the concerns of Real Madrid’s coaching staff will be the fact that Dani Carvajal, too, is now just one booking from a ban.

The Spanish international was shown his latest caution on Tuesday night, meaning he, alongside all of Vinícius, Camavinga and Bellingham, will be suspended for the hypothetical Champions League semi-final first leg, in the case of picking up another yellow in Manchester.
