The Spanish national team will be forced to make do without the contributions of another key player in their upcoming fixtures.
The player in question? Rodri.
Midfielder Rodri for his part set alarm bells sounding across Spain and Manchester alike this past weekend.
As much came upon the former Ballon d’Or winner being forced into a premature departure from Man City’s Premier League meeting with Brentford.
Rodri has long been struggling in his efforts to regain full fitness, following his long-term spell on the sidelines with an ACL injury.
And as alluded to above, this week, the decision has in turn been made for the 29-year-old to drop out of international duty.
As confirmed by journalist Fabrizio Romano, Rodri will play no part in Spain’s upcoming pair of World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Bulgaria.
The former Villarreal man is hopeful of being back available for selection for Manchester City’s Premier League meeting with Everton on October 18th.
