A member of the summer recruitment drive at Barcelona has on Thursday secured for himself an individual accolade.
The player in question? Joan García.
Goalkeeper Joan is for his part of course fresh off a fine start to life in the colours of Barcelona.
After being brought in from Catalan rivals Espanyol, the 24-year-old has wasted little time in clinching no.1 status in Hansi Flick’s squad.
Joan has since gone on to contribute to a pair of wins and a draw in his three appearances to date.
And it was his efforts en route to the latter result which have this week culminated in the shot-stopper bagging an individual prize.
As confirmed by way of a post across social media on Thursday, Joan has been handed the award for La Liga Save of the Month.
As much comes for the following effort en route to a 1-1 draw with Rayo Vallecano on August 31st:
Joan’s accolade comes 24 hours on from teammate Pedri clinching La Liga’s Goal of the Month for August.
