Another Barcelona star ready to end vacation early to start pre-season training

A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is giving serious consideration to cutting his summer vacation short.

This comes with a view to returning to Catalunya’s capital early, to ramp up his fitness ahead of pre-season.

The player in question? Andreas Christensen.

Stopper Christensen is of course fresh off something of a season to forget in 2024/25.

All told, owing to a pair of long-term injury problems, the Dane was restricted to just six appearances across all competitions.

As much has given rise to inevitable chatter surrounding his future, amid suggestions that Christensen could be moved on before the summer is out.

As alluded to above, though, the former Chelsea man himself evidently has other ideas.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘Andreas Christenseen is considering cutting short his vacation and bringing forward his return to work to join the official start of FC Barcelona’s preseason, with a pre-season preparation that will have him in the best possible condition for the next season.’

The 29-year-old could in turn join defensive partner Ronald Araújo back at The Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper at some point this coming week.
