‘Annoying’ – Jürgen Klopp responds to Real Madrid & Atlético manager links

Former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has this week spoken out on the ongoing speculation linking him with a move to La Liga.

The name of German tactician Klopp has of course long been a prominent one in the media headlines across Spain.

This comes amid claims that capital heavyweights Real Madrid and Atlético have both earmarked the 58-year-old as a potential future managerial appointment.

In the case of the former, Los Blancos remain on the lookout for a long-term replacement for caretaker boss Álvaro Arbeloa.

The Atlético brass, meanwhile, have long been tipped to move on from beloved headmaster Diego Simeone.

If the latest comments on the part of Jürgen Klopp himself are anything to go by, however, then a move to La Liga does not appear to be on the cards any time soon…

Drawn on his repeated links with the city of Madrid during an exchange with the media on Tuesday, the one-time Borussia Dortmund coach assured:

“The rumours about Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid are annoying. No one called to open a negotiation. I’m sorry but they’d have to call before I can say anything. It didn’t happen.”
