Barcelona legend Andrés Iniesta has on Thursday publicly added his name to the list of appreciators of Blaugrana sensation Lamine Yamal.
This of course comes as the 17-year-old continues to make a name for himself as world football’s standout young player.
Wide-man Lamine is fresh off nothing short of a spectacular individual campaign, which saw the Spanish international run riot down Barcelona’s right flank.
All told, in 55 appearances across all competitions, Lamine racked up a hefty 43 direct goal contributions.
And yet, the starlet is so much more than just his numbers, with Lamine having lit up the European stage with nothing short of world-class touch, dribbling, and creative exploits.
And as alluded to above, this week, such efforts have culminated in praise on the part of one of Barcelona’s greatest-ever players.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, in quotes relaid by Mundo Deportivo, Andrés Iniesta was drawn on Lamine’s contract renewal, and went on to reply:
“It’s fantastic news for Barça fans that he can be there. I hope he can maintain that level and continue to improve year after year because he truly is a unique talent. I hope he can bring Barça a lot of joy.”
