Ancelotti hints at why Real Madrid should be considered favourites for Bayern 2nd leg

One particular post-match comment laid out by Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti on the back of his side’s meeting with Bayern Munich on Tuesday has turned heads back in Spain’s capital.

This comes after Ancelotti appeared to hint that Real should be considered favourites to advance to the finale of the Champions League.

Los Blancos of course locked horns with German heavyweights Bayern late last night, at the Allianz Arena.

When all was said and done, the two sides could not be separated, on their way to a pulsating 2-2 stalemate.

Speaking to the media on the back of proceedings coming to a close in Bavaria, the subject of his side’s display was in turn put to the aforementioned Ancelotti.

As much comes with Real having been dominated through much of the 90 minutes on Tuesday.

And, in his response, the Italian tactician hinted that an improved performance in next week’s return leg should prove enough to see his side through.

Why? The fact that Bayern, in the eyes of Ancelotti, were at their very ‘best’ in Munich, with his side having been some way short of as much:

“Bayern played their best football today, and we didn’t play our best.”
