Barcelona star İlkay Gündoğan has taken to social media on Saturday night, to respond to the club’s opening day La Liga triumph.
The name of midfielder Gündoğan has of course positioned itself front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital across the day to date.
This comes, first, after the 33-year-old was omitted from Barcelona’s squad to face Valencia.
As much was initially attributed to a head injury suffered against Monaco earlier in the week, but chatter surrounding the situation soon began to mount.
This came owing to a shock report on the part of Diario Sport, which assured that Gündoğan had requested a Blaugrana departure before the summer is out.
Safe to say, then, that all of a Barca persuasion will be interested to hear of the former Manchester City man, late tonight, providing his response to the club’s season opener.
After Hansi Flick’s men battled their way to a comeback 2-1 victory at Mestalla, Gündoğan took to his official ‘X’ account, to post the following:
‘Crucial victory in our season opener – good job! Vamos equipo’
