Almería star seals €8 million Lokomotiv Moscow switch

A headline member of the defensive ranks at La Liga 2 outfit Almería has on Wednesday sealed a move away from the club.

That’s according to Relevo, who point towards César Montes as the player in question.

Whilst the summer transfer window in Spain, of course, came to a close last week, it remains very much open in a number of other countries.

This means that Spanish clubs are still free to sell players to any such country.

And, this week, Almería have seen the time as right to move forward with precisely as much.

As per the aforementioned Relevo, the Indálicos, after being sent packing from the top-flight of Spanish football last season, have moved to cash in on César Montes.

The stopper, it is understood, has agreed to an initial loan deal, featuring an obligation to buy, with Russian heavyweights Lokomotiv Moscow.

The transfer will secure for Almería a sum with the potential to rise to €8 million, a figure deemed as too good to turn down by the brass at Power Horse Stadium.

Montes, meanwhile, has committed to a contract in Russia’s capital through the summer of 2029.
