Almería forward Umar Sadiq on Sevilla’s radar

Almería striker Umar Sadiq could be an option for Sevilla, according to Marca.

According to reports, the Nigerian marksman is high up on manager Julen Lopetegui and sporting director Monchi’s list as Youssef En-Nesyri could be sold this summer.

With Luuk de Jong set to depart the club and En-Nesyri attracting interest from the Premier League, notably West Ham, Sadiq has been eyed by the Sevilla hierarchy as a potential target in attack.

25-year old Sadiq enjoyed a terrific season for Segunda champions Almería in 2021/22, netting 18 goals and assisting nine in the second tier. The newly-promoted side are reportedly asking for €25 million, with Villarreal also reportedly keen.

Marca’s report states that Sadiq has expressed his desire to play for Sevilla, being familiar with Monchi from his time at AS Roma. While Elche’s Lucas Boyé had earlier emerged as a candidate for Sevilla, the Argentine’s injury concerns and poor form have not convinced Monchi, who has now shifted his sights towards Sadiq.
