Alf-Inge Haaland: “La Liga would be a really good league for my son.”

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Diario AS, former Manchester City midfielder Alf-Inge Haaland spoke about his son’s (Erling) future and says La Liga would be a good league for the 19-year-old striker.

“I’m very happy for him and for Borussia Dortmund, although for me the most important thing is to keep growing like he has until now. Obviously, I’m proud. Dortmund told us they needed someone like him and that the objective is to max out. This is a team fighting for the Bundesliga and will keep growing in European competition. It’s perfect for him to keep developing.”

Real Madrid have been linked with the man of the moment due to their lower than usual goalscoring numbers this season. Haaland, who is also his son’s representative, revealed that there is plenty of interest in Erling, who has hit extraordinary form in his first season in the Bundesliga.

“We are linked with one hundred clubs, but it’s true that the Spanish league is a really good one for my son, with great teams. You never know if he will go to Spain. Whatever is meant to be will happen.”
