Alavés miss out as key transfer target heads to Turkey

La Liga outfit Deportivo Alavés look set to miss out on a headline member of the club’s summer transfer wishlist.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing ‘Futbol Fantasy’, who highlight Bruno Petković as the player in question.

Frontman Petković had seen his name heavily linked with that of Alavés over recent days.

This came after the Babazorros identified the Dinamo Zagreb star as their first-choice target to replace the outbound Kike García.

Safe to say, then, that it will no doubt mark a blow for those behind the scenes at Mendizorroza to learn of Petković preparing to take his talents elsewhere.

As per a report from MD:

‘This Wednesday, June 18, ‘Futbol Fantasy’ reports that the current Dinamo Zagreb player will play in Turkish football next season, specifically for Kocaelispor.’

Petković, it is claimed, was spotted at an airport in Zagreb earlier today, preparing to board a flight to Istanbul to complete a move to Kocaelispor.
