Alavés eyeing audacious swoop for free agent attacker

La Liga outfit Deportivo Alavés have set their sights on the signature of a soon-to-be free agent striker this summer.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing a string of other Spanish outlets, who have confirmed that Bruno Petković is firmly in the sights of those in the boardroom at Mendizorroza.

Petković, for his part, is a 30-year-old centre-forward, who acts as a regular for the Croatian national team.

The experienced frontman has spent the last six years plying his trade on the books of Dinamo Zagreb.

At the end of the month, though, Petković’s contract terms with Dinamo will officially come to an end.

As much has given rise to links with a whole host of clubs from across the continent, several of them high-profile.

As per the aforementioned MD, though, La Liga minnows Alavés have not been deterred by the competition, ready to launch an offensive for Petković over the weeks ahead.

The Babazorros have identified the 42-time capped international as the ideal replacement for the outbound Kike García.
