Ajax ‘pushing’ for signing of Barcelona star

Dutch heavyweights Ajax have joined the hunt for an outbound member of the midfield ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona.

That’s according to transfer insider Matteo Moretto, who points towards Pablo Torre as the player in question.

The name of youngster Torre has of course proven a prominent one in the transfer headlines in Catalunya’s capital over recent days.

As much comes after RCD Mallorca kicked into gear negotiations with their Barcelona counterparts, over the 22-year-old’s signing.

Torre is available for purchase this summer, after struggling for game-time under the watch of Hansi Flick this past season.

And if the latest word stemming from the media on Tuesday is anything to go by, then one of Europe’s most recognisable clubs are also keen on his services.

As per a report from journalist Matteo Moretto:

‘In recent days, Ajax have been pushing for Pablo Torre. Other La Liga teams are also inquiring.’

It is reiterated, though, that as things stand, Mallorca remain ‘confident’ in their chances of beating out the competition to Torre’s signature.
