A new name features in Barcelona’s matchday squad to face Getafe

Another highly-regarded up-and-coming member of the academy setup at La Liga giants Barcelona has on Wednesday been afforded a matchday call-up to the club’s first-team squad.

Hansi Flick’s troops are of course set to return to action later this evening.

Fresh off a flawless opening to the campaign in Spain’s top-flight, Barcelona will play host to Getafe, hopeful of making it seven wins from seven to reestablish their four-point lead atop the table.

In efforts towards as much, the Blaugrana will be forced to make do without the contributions of long-time no.1 Marc-André ter Stegen, who was this week condemned to a long-term spell on the sidelines.

Whilst the door, for the time being, closes for one Barca star, though, it has opened for another to make an impression.

This comes amid confirmation that Áron Yaakobishvili has been afforded a call-up to face Getafe on Wednesday.

18-year-old Yaakobishvili will step in as the 3rd-choice goalkeeper option in Hansi Flick’s squad tonight, behind Iñaki Peña, and Ander Astralaga.

As much comes with fellow youngster Diego Kochen in the midst of his own spell on the sidelines at present.
