A former Barcelona fan favourite was in attendance to watch Xavi’s men best PSG

A former member of the midfield setup at Barcelona was present in the stands to watch his ex-club get the better of Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night.

Barca, of course, are fresh off their return to action on the continent.

After sending Napoli packing in the competition’s Round-of-16, Xavi’s troops made the trip to France, for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie with Luis Enrique’s PSG.

And, when all was said and done, the Blaugrana secured for themselves an advantage to take back to Catalunya.

As much came courtesy of a pulsating 3-2 triumph, featuring a Raphinha brace, and eventual Andreas Christensen winner.

And, as alluded to above, one particular member of the packed crowd at the Parc des Princes was no doubt thrilled with the eventual outcome on Wednesday.

The individual in question? Franck Kessié.

Midfielder Kessié, for his part, spent a solitary year on the books of Barcelona, last season.

And, though the Ivorian was swiftly moved on to the Saudi Pro League for financial purposes, he nevertheless managed to make his mark at the Camp Nou.

Many of a Blaugrana persuasion have fond memories of the all-action midfielder, in no small part owing to his dramatic last-gasp winner against Real Madrid in March of last year.

Such fans, in turn, will surely be delighted to hear that Kessié was in attendance in Paris, to cheer his former side on on their way to an important victory.
