A member of the goalkeeper ranks at Barcelona is the subject of transfer interest on the part of La Liga rivals Real Betis.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who highlight Iñaki Peña as the player in question.
Goalkeeper Peña is of course widely expected to be on the move before the summer is out.
With Joan García on his way in at the Camp Nou, and Wojciech Szczęsny now expected to stay put for next season, the Spaniard is aware that game time would be at a premium in Hansi Flick’s squad in 2025/26.
Club and player alike are therefore on the lookout for a new home for Peña.
And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media this week is anything to go by, then as much could well be found at another of the Spanish top-flight’s clubs.
As per a report from Sport:
‘Several clubs have knocked on Peña’s door and Real Betis is the one that has shown the most interest.’
The Verdiblancos, it is understood, have made contact to gather an understanding of the 26-year-old’s willingness to move to Seville.
With Álvaro Valles having already reinforced the options between the posts in Manuel Pellegrini’s squad this summer, though, Peña, as of yet, has not made a final call.
