The board at La Liga giants Real Madrid are preparing to ‘shake up’ the European transfer market this summer.
That’s according to Marca, who have provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Spain’s capital with a view to next season.
Real Madrid have of course long been hard at work in an effort to strengthen for the 2024/25 campaign.
With sights on hunting down arch rivals Barcelona atop the Spanish football pyramid, Los Blancos have already brought in both Xabi Alonso and Dean Huijsen.
A free agent deal for Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold is also expected to be announced any day now.
If the latest word stemming from the Spanish press this week is anything to go by, though, then Florentino Pérez and co. are far from done there…
As per a report from Marca:
‘Real Madrid are shaking up the transfer market in spectacular fashion, something they haven’t done for 16 years.’
Providing further context, it is confirmed that work is continuing behind the scenes to bring in Benfica standout Álvaro Carreras.
Beyond as much, Real are also eyeing fresh blood in the middle of the park, giving serious consideration to activating their buyback clause on Como talent Nico Paz.
And one further midfield addition is being lined up, too, in the form of Stuttgart talent Angelo Stiller.
