Yet another up-and-coming member of the academy ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona is set to be called up for pre-season training with the club’s first-team this summer.
The player in question? Òscar Gistau.
Gistau, for his part, is an 18-year-old attacker, who chiefly occupies the centre-forward role. The frontman has long been hailed for his goalscoring instincts, as well as his stellar work rate, and tactical awareness.
Gistau has over the last couple of seasons spent lengthy spells on the sidelines through injury, but according to Diario Sport, will be rewarded over the coming weeks.
This will come courtesy of a place in Hansi Flick’s squad for pre-season training.
With a host of Barcelona’s key performers set to return to base in Catalunya’s capital well after their teammates owing to World Cup duties, breakthrough talent will be afforded a chance to shine upon the Blaugrana kickstarting preparations for next season in July.
Also expected to be afforded places in senior training are the trio of Hamza Abdelkarim, Ebrima Tunkara and Orian Goren.
