A breakthrough member of the attacking ranks at La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid has left new manager José Mourinho thoroughly impressed with his efforts in pre-season training.
That’s according to Blancos insider Álvaro Esteban, who highlights Alexis Ciria as the player in question.
Ciria, for his part, is an 18-year-old attacker, who chiefly takes to the pitch on the left wing. The Spaniard only made the move to Real Madrid earlier this year, from Sevilla, initially linking up with the club’s Castilla side.
From here, Ciria’s ensuing performances culminated in a first-team call for pre-season training in Spain’s capital last month. And as alluded to above, the youngster has since taken full advantage of the chance afforded to him this summer…
After playing his part in each of Real’s last two friendly outings against Fiorentina and Ferencváros, Ciria is understood to have firmly turned the head of José Mourinho.
As per a report from journalist Álvaro Esteban:
‘Mourinho is very satisfied with Alexis Ciria. ‘The Special One’ might continue giving him minutes in the rest of the preseason. Goal against Fiorentina and assist against Ferencváros. Total audacity.’
