Another Barcelona starlet tipped for first-team berth after breaking record at youth level

Another highly-regarded member of the youth setup at La Liga giants Barcelona has this weekend been tipped to make the step up to senior level in the near future.

The player in question? Unai Hernández.

Midfielder Unai, for his part, is fresh off a night to remember on Saturday.

As much came as the 19-year-old proved himself the undisputed star of the show, en route to Barca Atlètic booking a place in the playoff final for promotion to La Liga 2.

After the Blaugrana found themselves in a two-goal hole during the first-half against Ibiza, Unai took the game firmly by the scruff of the neck.

After first laying on the assist for Marc Guiu’s finish, the former Girona talent turned goalscorer himself, to the tune of, incredibly, a four-minute hat-trick.

This set a new record as the fastest triple in the history of the Primera RFEF, the catalyst for Barcelona’s eventual 5-3 victory on the night.

And, as per a report from Mundo Deportivo, as much will not have gone at all unnoticed on the part of incoming Barca first-team boss Hansi Flick, and his coaching staff:

‘If Unai maintains his progression it will not be strange to see him under the command of Hansi Flick in the near future,’ it is assured.
