Zinedine Zidane has singled out RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano as a key summer target for Real Madrid, according to AS. The French defender is out of contract with Leipzig in 2021 and according to sources has been pushing to leave the Bundesliga side.
Madrid are in pole position to secure his services this summer with his agent also representing Toni Kroos.
The 21-year-old has a current salary of approximately €2m per season and with a renewal with Leipzig looking unlikely to happen, the club could sell rather than see him exit on a free transfer in June 2021.
