Zinedine Zidane on Gareth Bale: “When he doesn’t play it doesn’t mean we don’t have a good relationship.”

Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of Real Madrid’s encounter with Valencia on Thursday, head coach Zinedine Zidane admitted he has a “totally normal” relationship with Gareth Bale.

He had a back problem, that’s why he wasn’t 100%. We’ve always had a good relationship. When he doesn’t play it doesn’t mean we don’t have a good relationship. We know the player he is and what he’s done. I respect him a lot and can’t control what you write in the press. Our relationship is totally normal.
