Ex-Barcelona head coach Xavi has taken to social media, to send a message of congratulations to his former employers.
This, of course, comes fresh off an evening to remember for Barcelona on Sunday.
After making the trip to Jeddah for a Super Cup final showdown with arch rivals Real Madrid, Hansi Flick’s troops emerged dominant victors.
Owing to goals on the part of all of Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha (2) and Alejandro Balde, the Blaugrana marched to a 5-2 triumph, securing a first piece of silverware of the season in the process.
And, as alluded to above, one individual who was quick to make clear his delight with as much was tactician Xavi.
The man responsible for guiding Barcelona to their other most recent trophy haul, the Spaniard took to his official Instagram account, to repost an image of the Catalans’ crest alongside the Supercopa, accompanied by the caption:
‘Congratulations champions. Visça El Barça.’
