Xavi: “Ronald Araújo wants to play.”

Barcelona defender Ronald Araéjo could play in the club’s match against Getafe on Sunday, just five days after suffering a head injury that caused him to spend a night in hospital.

The Uruguayan suffered a head clash with team-mate Gavi in Tuesday’s 3-1 La Liga win at home to Celta Vigo.

Araújo wants to play,” Xavi said in words transcribed by Mundo Deportivo from his press conference on Saturday.

“At no time was he unconscious against Celta and he wants to play. I’m excited by the commitment he has. He is feeling well and he wants to help the team. Others would be out, but he’s not. He wasn’t knocked unconscious and in that sense, it’s important for him to be able to play tomorrow.”
