Xavi provides Raphinha injury update after Barcelona’s win over Osasuna

Barcelona head coach Xavi has this evening provided an update on the wellbeing of attacker Raphinha.

Wide-man Raphinha, as expected, was afforded his latest starting berth a short time ago, as Barca went head-to-head with Osasuna for a place in the final of the Supercopa de España.

When all was said and done, the Blaugrana emerged triumphant, booking a showpiece clash with arch rivals Real Madrid this coming Sunday.

Raphinha, however, managed less than 45 minutes, before being forced into a premature departure from the action in Riyadh.

After pulling up with what appeared to be a muscular concern, the Brazilian was quickly hooked, replaced by youngster Lamine Yamal.

Ahead of Sunday’s Clásico, Xavi, in turn, was asked for the latest on Raphinha’s wellbeing during his post-match press conference.

And the Spanish tactician went on to reveal that the former Leeds United standout has picked up a hamstring problem, the extent of which is yet to be determined:

“Raphinha has hamstring discomfort,” he noted.
