Barcelona head coach Xavi Hernández has, on Saturday, provided an update on the wellbeing of frontman Ferran Torres.
And the news will no doubt be met with widespread excitement on the part of the Barcelona faithful.
This comes amid confirmation that Torres is on the verge of a return to the pitch.
The former Manchester City man, for his part, has not featured in any of Barca’s last five outings across all competitions.
As much comes owing to a thigh injury suffered inside the opening ten minutes of action in the Blaugrana’s La Liga meeting with Osasuna late in January.
Amid claims in the media that Torres is inching towards a comeback, though, it came as little surprise when the subject of his versatile attacker’s fitness was put to the aforementioned Xavi earlier today.
And, in a boost for all associated with Barca, the club’s headmaster went on to confirm that Torres is in line to return to training next week.
Should all go according to plan, he could therefore be included in the Catalans’ matchday squad to face Mallorca on Friday, March 8th.
“Next week, Ferran will join the team,” Xavi simply stated.
