Xavi calls another Barcelona talent up for first senior training session

Another up-and-coming member of the youth ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona was on Friday afforded his first chance to impress as part of the club’s first-team setup.

That’s according to journalist Sergi Capdevila of Diario Sport, who has provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.

Joining Xavi’s star-studded ranks in being put through their paces this morning was Landry Farré.

Farré, for his part, is a 17-year-old defender, who chiefly operates as a right-back, but is also capable of lining out on the left, or even in a central role in the backline.

Born in Ivory Coast, he is a Spanish youth international, who has racked up eight appearances for La Roja’s U17 outfit.

As per Sport, Farré is a ‘very physically powerful’ player, whose efforts in La Masia have evidently begun to pique attentions higher up the ladder in Catalunya.

The youngster, as a result, was on Friday rewarded for his exploits with a first-ever call-up to train with Xavi’s senior squad:
