New Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso is set to be afforded an unexpected personnel boost for the upcoming Club World Cup.
That’s according to Marca, who point towards Éder Militão as the player primed to provide as much.
Defender Militão has for his part of course been sidelined since back in early November of 2024.
This comes after the Brazilian, just over a year on from suffering a ruptured ACL in his left knee, was condemned to another lengthy spell out of action by way of the same injury in his right knee.
Despite the devastating nature of the setback, reports had long pointed towards Militão enjoying a solid recovery, ahead of schedule in his efforts to return to the grass.
And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media on Monday is anything to go by, then the former Porto man looks set to be at the disposal of new manager Xabi Alonso even sooner than expected.
As per Marca:
‘Éder Militão is Xabi Alonso’s silent signing for the new Real Madrid. The Brazilian centre-back is aiming to make his comeback at this summer’s FIFA Club World Cup. He won’t be a transfer signing, but his return feels like one.’
