Women’s Euro 2022 team of the tournament revealed

Spain midfielder Aitana Bonmatí has been named in the Women’s Euro 2022 team of the tournament.

La Roja lost to both finalists England and Germany but still had Bonmatí (24) make the best XI.

With Alexia Putellas absent through injury, the player from Sant Pere de Ribes stepped up.

The Barcelona player scored one goal in the tournament and had a passing accuracy of 91.25%, one of the highest in the tournament.

She has also made a contribution in defence, with 14 recoveries (3.5 per game) and ran 45.12 km (11.28 per game).

Runners-up Germany had five players selected in the team of the tournament despite losing 2-1 to England in Sunday’s Wembley final.
