The squad number set to be taken by incoming Barcelona signing Wojciech Szczęsny has on Monday been revealed.
This comes amid confirmation on the part of Mundo Deportivo that shot-stopper Szczęsny has been left with only one jersey option.
As per La Liga’s rules, goalkeepers in the competition must wear one of the following numbers – 1, 13, or 25.
In Hansi Flick’s Barcelona squad, the former two numbers already have owners, in the form of the sidelined Marc-André ter Stegen, and backup Iñaki Peña.
This means that Szczęsny, when taking to the pitch in Blaugrana colours over the remainder of the campaign, will do so with 25 emblazoned across his back.
Turning attentions towards his impending arrival, the understanding is that the Pole, brought in owing to the long-term injury suffered by Barca no.1 Ter Stegen, underwent his medical earlier today.
Once the powers that be at the Camp Nou have sorted the necessary financial requirements with La Liga, Szczęsny will in turn be officially unveiled as the latest addition to Hansi Flick’s ranks.
