Vinícius picked up an injury against Celta Vigo at the end of August and is still recovering from a spell on the sidelines. As previously reported by Relevo, club doctors feel that this weekend’s game against Atlético Madrid will come too soon for the Brazilian.
It’s also been reported that the medical staff believe Real’s league game against Las Palmas on September 27 may even be too soon for the forward.
Vinícius himself confirmed the news at the launch of EA Sports FC 24, saying, “I’m fine, but I still have a little left to go.” He has, however, been called into Carlo Ancelotti’s squad for tonight’s clash in the Spanish capital, but it remains to be seen if he will have any game time at the Metropolitano as the Italian head coach is not usually prepared to risk players.
In the absence of Vinícius in recent weeks, Ancelotti has deployed Joselu, Rodrygo and Jude Bellingham as his attacking players. The trio have stepped up and led Los Blancos to a perfect start to the season, winning every single game. Ancelotti will, however, be awaiting the return of Vini Jr., as he has the potential to take his side to the next level and unlock defences across Europe.
