Will Chelsea buy João Félix?

João Félix has only played 148 minutes in a Chelsea shirt and has already made an impact: scoring a goal, getting a red card, and showing his undisputed quality.

It’s early days, but, according to Matteo Moretto of Relevo, the Portugal international has already won the heart of Chelsea owner Todd Boehly, who is already thinking about building the team of the future around him.

The relationship between the Portuguese player’s super agent Jorge Mendes and Boehly is excellent and could help the parties come to an agreement in June, when the future of the Portuguese number 11, owned by Atlético Madrid, will have to be discussed.

João Félix is feeling the benefit of having a change of scenery, of trying something new, after a few years in the Spanish capital. It is still early days, but the 23-year-old could be Todd Boehly’s next big investment at Stamford Bridge.

In the January transfer window, Atlético were asking for between €130m and €140m, but in the summer a figure of just over €100m could be considered enough as €11.5m has already been paid for the loan deal until June.
