An insight into the early struggles of Barcelona youngster Vitor Roque to adapt to life at the club has been provided this afternoon.
Frontman Roque, of course, at long last linked up with Xavi’s squad earlier this month, after the Barca brass struck a big-money deal for his signature in the summer of 2023.
So highly is the Brazilian international regarded, that many actually tipped him to usurp Robert Lewandowski in the centre-forward pecking order in Catalunya with immediate effect, despite Roque being just 18.
As much, however, has since failed to transpire.
Instead, Roque has endured something of a slow start to his La Liga stint, en route to four appearances, all from the bench.
And, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, as much may well come with the youngster enduring something of a difficult time away from the pitch, too.
As per a report from Bar Canales, a whole host of factors are contributing to the attacker’s woes, including all of the climate, media pressure, moving from hotel to hotel with his family, and problems settling socially in Barca’s squad.
It is of course important to keep in mind, though, that Roque is just 18 years of age, and was always likely to face at least some difficulties adapting to such a momentous change in his young life.
