Why Vinícius Jr’s suspension could spell good news for Real Madrid teammate Arda Güler

An insight into the potential knock-on effect of the suspension picked up by Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. on young teammate Arda Güler has today been forthcoming online.

Wide-man Vinícius, of course, took his place front and centre in the headlines once more this past Saturday.

As much came owing to a scintillating display, en route to notching a brace in a 4-2 La Liga victory over Osasuna.

And yet, one disappointing note on an otherwise stellar afternoon’s work for the Brazilian, came on the disciplinary front.

After being guilty of repeated protests to the referee and his team of officials, Vinícius was shown a yellow card during the first-half at El Sadar.

This marked his fifth of the campaign in Spain’s top-flight, giving rise to an automatic one-match suspension.

The 23-year-old, as a result, will be unavailable for selection to head coach Carlo Ancelotti in Real Madrid’s post-international break return to action, against Athletic Club.

As alluded to above, though, one Blancos star’s loss, could prove to be the gain of another…

As per a report from Defensa Central, owing to the reduced attacking options at his disposal, Ancelotti is expected to afford Arda Güler an uptick in game-time.

With the Turk, to date, have generally been utilised for short bursts inside the closing five to ten minutes of matches, against Athletic, all going according to plan, Güler is in line ‘to play 20 or 30 minutes’.
