Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé was shown a yellow card during the penalty shootout in the club’s showdown with Atlético on Wednesday night.
This came owing to an exchange with Marcos Llorente.
Real Madrid are of course fresh off booking their spot in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
After making the trip to the Metropolitano for the 2nd leg of the continental tie between themselves and city rivals Atlético, Los Blancos ultimately triumphed, by way of a penalty shootout.
En route to as much, the aforementioned Kylian Mbappé slotted home the first of his side’s four converted spot-kicks courtesy of a confident finish.
The Frenchman, though, as alluded to above, was punished for his actions later in the shootout.
After Marcos Llorente made his way towards Antonio Rüdiger in what looked set to be an attempt to put the German off on his way to the penalty spot, Mbappé jumped into action.
Stepping in between the pair, the summer arrival in Spain’s capital took the ball away from Llorente, before handing it over to teammate Rüdiger.
The referee, however, was left unhappy by Mbappé’s aggression in doing so, as well as his comments whilst walking away.
Real Madrid’s star frontman was in turn shown a yellow card.
