Why Borussia Dortmund have refused to train at Bernabéu before Real Madrid clash

The coaching staff at Bundesliga heavyweights Borussia Dortmund have come to the decision not to train at the Santiago Bernabéu, ahead of their upcoming meeting with Real Madrid.

That’s according to Marca, citing reliable German outlet BILD, who have on Monday provided an insight into the situation.

Dortmund and Real are of course primed to lock horns in a Champions League clash in Spain’s capital tomorrow evening.

As is customary in the run-up to such fixtures, the former, in turn, were invited by the brass at the Santiago Bernabéu to make use of the club’s pitch for a pre-match training session.

Dortmund, however, have come to the decision to reject this offer.

As per Marca, this comes amid concerns that ‘spies’ could await Nuri Sahin’s squad in the Bernabéu stands.

Eager to ensure that his side’s tactics remain private until kick-off on Tuesday, Sahin – who at one point during his playing days found himself on the books of Real – has in turn made the call to delay BVB’s trip to Madrid until later this evening.
