Why Ansu Fati will be hopeful of Barcelona appointing Roberto De Zerbi this summer

On-loan Barcelona starlet Ansu Fati could well benefit from the arrival of Roberto De Zerbi on the bench in Catalunya’s capital this summer.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have today provided a fresh insight into the future of the attacking prodigy.

Ansu, for his part, has of course spent the season to date plying his trade under the watch of De Zerbi, at Premier League outfit Brighton & Hove Albion.

As much comes after the 21-year-old was farmed out on a temporary basis by Barcelona last summer, in the hopes of regaining full fitness and confidence alike.

His time on England’s south coast has since proven something of a hit-and-miss affair, with flashes of brilliance having time and time again been cancelled out by fresh spells on the sidelines through injury.

And yet, despite his ongoing struggles, Ansu could yet be afforded his ultimate wish – to return to base in Catalunya with a view to next season.

As per the aforementioned Sport, this would be all but a certainty, in the case of Roberto De Zerbi being appointed as the outbound Xavi’s successor.

The Italian tactician – who sits high on the managerial wishlist of Deco and Joan Laporta alike – is understood to be a firm believer in the talents of his on-loan wide-man.

With the pair also boasting an excellent relationship off the pitch, a reunion in La Liga this summer could well be on the cards for Ansu Fati and Roberto De Zerbi.
