The powers that be at La Liga giants Real Madrid are considering organising alternative transport for goalkeeper Andriy Lunin for the Champions League final.
That’s according to Arancha Rodríguez of COPE, who has on Wednesday provided the latest on developments behind the scenes in Spain’s capital.
Lunin, for his part, was forced to sit out group training for the third day in succession on Wednesday.
This comes after the 26-year-old was earlier this week struck down by a bout of illness.
Lunin did manage a return to the grass this afternoon, but was not granted permission to link up with the rest of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.
As much came as a precaution, to ensure that any lingering effects of his sickness were not passed on to his teammates.
And, according to the aforementioned COPE, for the same reason, the shot-stopper may well be forced to make the upcoming trip to London for the Champions League final on his own:
‘Real Madrid, aware of the importance of Saturday’s match against Borussia Dortmund, and to avoid any possible contagion, is considering that the Ukrainian not travel with the rest of the team on the expedition this Thursday to London and do it alone on Saturday.’
