The path to the finale of this season’s edition of the Champions League was on Friday laid out in front of La Liga heavyweights Barcelona.
This of course comes by way of the draw for the Last-16 of the competition.
Barcelona, for their part, were pitted against a familiar opponent in the knockout rounds of the new-look Champions League, with a tie against a Benfica outfit whom they most recently faced just last month lying in wait.
In the case of the Blaugrana advancing beyond the Portuguese giants, though, what comes next?
Hansi Flick and co. are aware that, should they manage to keep the club’s European adventure alive beyond next month, a meeting with one of two clubs lies in wait.
Barcelona’s potential opponents in the quarter-finals of the Champions League come in the form of Borussia Dortmund, and Lille.
