A fresh insight into the plans of Athletic Club star and Barcelona target Nico Williams to announce his decision on his future for next season has today been forthcoming.
The info comes courtesy of transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, and points towards Williams’ answer as being imminent.
The name of wide-man Williams has of course positioned itself centre stage in the headlines across all of Spain for some time now.
This comes amid the widespread knowledge that the youngster, fresh off a stellar campaign at Euro 2024 with Spain, has been identified as a priority transfer target on the part of Barcelona.
The Blaugrana have been locked in negotiations with Williams and his entourage for several weeks now, with a view to activating the release clause in the player’s Athletic Club contract.
And yet, to date, Deco and co. have not received the definitive ‘yes’ which they so crave.
As much comes with the 22-year-old still working on coming to a definitive decision regarding a potential Camp Nou switch.
So, when can Barca expect to hear back from Williams, with a final answer?
As per the aforementioned Fabrizio Romano, within the coming days:
“How long do we have to wait for Nico Williams’ decision? I think that maximum by the beginning of next week, like Monday.”
