An insight into the timeline set out by those in a position of power at La Liga champions Barcelona for the signing of Manchester City star Rodri has come to the fore online.
This comes amid the understanding that the Blaugrana brass are hopeful of having crossed the Ts and dotted the Is on the deal within the next few days.
Midfielder Rodri is of course now widely expected to put pen to paper on terms at the Spotify Camp Nou this summer.
Ahead of the expiration of his contract terms in Manchester in 12 months’ time, the 30-year-old has long informed his current employers of his plans to move on.
After Real Madrid were initially labelled as the favourites to land Rodri, it was then revealed that the Ballon d’Or winner himself favoured a move to Hansi Flick’s Barcelona.
An agreement on the terms of a contract, in turn, has since been put in place between the parties. And if the latest word stemming from the Spanish media is anything to go by, then a similar accord now appears to be close between the clubs, too.
As per a report from market insider Matteo Moretto of Marca:
‘Barça are making a strong push for him and want to finalize the deal between Wednesday and Thursday of this week, reaching a fee of 70 million euros.’
