What Xavi shouted into the TV camera after Barcelona’s overturned penalty vs Villarreal

Confirmation of the comments shouted into the pitch-side camera by Barcelona head coach Xavi Hernández during his side’s meeting with Villarreal has come to the fore late this evening.

This comes fresh off another embarrassing night for all associated with the Blaugrana.

After being sent packing from the Copa del Rey in midweek, Barcelona, on Saturday, turned their attentions back towards matters in La Liga, by way of a meeting with Villarreal.

And, incredibly, after recovering from a two-goal deficit to take the lead during the 2nd-half, the Catalans still somehow conspired to fall to defeat, by five goals to three.

The turning point in proceedings came deep into injury-time, when, with the scoreline locked at 3-3, the hosts were awarded a penalty.

A subsequent VAR check, however, saw referee Jose Munuera ultimately opt to overturn his decision, deeming the handball in question an accidental one.

Despite the widespread agreement that the call was the correct one, though, one individual who could not help but reveal his frustration came in the form of the aforementioned Xavi.

Turning towards a camera on the sideline, Barca’s boss could be seen shouting angrily down the lens.

And it has since been revealed precisely what Xavi had to say.

As confirmed by multiple sources, he labelled the referee’s call ‘a disgrace’:

“It’s a DISGRACE, it’s a DISGRACE.”
