Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has moved to make clear his appreciation for the efforts of Ansu Fati in the club’s latest outing.
This, of course, comes after the 22-year-old featured from the off against RCD Mallorca on Tuesday night.
Barcelona marked their return to action yesterday evening, welcoming Mallorca to Catalunya’s capital with sights on another three-point haul amid their pursuit of the La Liga title.
When all was said and done, this is precisely what the Blaugrana managed, courtesy of a solitary strike on the part of Dani Olmo.
And yet, pre and post-match alike, it was the name of the aforementioned Ansu which dominated the headlines.
Winger Ansu had started just a solitary league outing all season before Tuesday, with his inclusion from the get go against Mallorca having therefore come as a major surprise.
The Spaniard, to his credit, went on to enjoy a solid outing, looking lively and dangerous throughout his hour on the pitch.
Speaking to the media on the back of the full-time whistle at Montjuïc, the aforementioned Hansi Flick was therefore quick to make clear his delight for a player who has endured a thoroughly difficult time of things over recent seasons:
“We all love Ansu Fati. He played well today. His teammates and the fans are happy too, he deserved to play and we’re all happy.”
