Barcelona star Dani Olmo has left more than one member of the coaching staff at the club taken aback with his quality over the early months of the campaign.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Tuesday provided an insight into the situation.
The name of midfielder Olmo has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the course of recent days.
This comes after the 26-year-old’s return to starting duties following a spell on the sidelines was marked by a brace, en route to a 3-1 downing of Espanyol.
This added to what was a superb start to life for Olmo back in Blaugrana colours, following his big-money summer transfer from RB Leipzig.
All told, across five La Liga appearances to date (3 starts), the Spanish international has racked up five goals.
And, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then Olmo’s excellence on the pitch and the training ground alike has not been lost on the club’s coaching staff.
As per the aforemetioned MD, quoting an anonymous member of Hansi Flick’s setup last week:
“We knew he was very good, but not that good…”
