Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. conjured up a moment of absolute individual brilliance when his country needed it most in the early hours of Friday.
Vinícius was for his part afforded a starting berth this morning, as Brazil locked horns with Colombia in a crunch World Cup qualifying fixture.
When all was said and done, the former emerged on the right side of a hard-fought 2-1 result.
And it was that man Vinícius who proved himself match-winner.
After Raphinh’s early opener was cancelled out by Liverpool star Luis Díaz, the clash looked set to play out into a 1-1 draw between the South American heavyweights.
A full eight minutes into injury-time, however, Real Madrid’s attacking talisman picked the ball up on the left, before finding the far corner from a full 25 yards courtesy of a wonderful strike:
As much culminated in Vinícius securing both the plaudits, and the Man of the Match award.
