Real Madrid star Arda Güler was responsible for fluffing his lines from the penalty spot during the club’s pre-season opener on Friday.
This comes after the Turk took responsibility from 12 yards during Los Blancos’ meeting with Alcorcón.
The 2nd José Mourinho era in Spain’s capital is now officially up and running. After spending the last couple of weeks overseeing training activities at Valdebebas, the Portuguese this evening took to the touchline for the first time since his Real return.
After a friendly clash with minnows Alcorcón was put in place, the capital heavyweights ultimately emerged on the right side of a 1-0 result.
Youngster Daniel Yáñez netted the only goal of the fixture inside the closing 10 minutes of proceedings.
As alluded to above, though, Arda Güler was responsible for squandering the chance to put Real Madrid in front from the penalty spot some time earlier.
After Franco Mastantuono was fouled in the Alcorcón penalty area, the 21-year-old’s ensuing spot-kick was kept out courtesy of a fine save, showcased below:
