Watch: Former Barcelona youngster scores stunning first goal in Saudi Arabia

A former member of the youth ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona opened his account in Saudi football on Thursday, and in some style…

The player in question? Unai Hernández.

Midfielder Unai for his part brought a close to his stint on the books of Barcelona during the January transfer window.

Aware of the uphill task ahead of him in carving out a place in Hansi Flick’s first-team ranks, the 20-year-old opted for a new adventure, linking up with Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad.

And as alluded to above, on Thursday, Unai provided fans of his new club with a glimpse of his unquestionable talents.

Al-Ittihad marked their return to action a short time ago, playing host to Al-Orobah in a league clash.

Unai was afforded a starting berth in the fixture, joining the likes of N’Golo Kanté, Fabinho and Karim Benzema in a star-studded XI.

And, late in the first-half, the Spaniard conjured up a moment of individual brilliance.

After picking the ball up 35 yards from goal, Unai drove forward, before unleashing an unstoppable strike into the far corner of the Al-Orobah net.
