Footage of the enthralled reaction of Atlético Madrid head coach Diego Simeone to the late-game efforts conjured up by Conor Gallagher in the club’s latest outing has come to the fore online.
Atlético, of course, were back in action on Saturday night.
Amid an ongoing push for the La Liga title, the Rojiblancos welcomed Athletic Club to Spain’s capital, for a highly-anticipated clash.
When all was said and done, Atléti emerged on the right side of a 1-0 result, owing to a solitary strike on the part of Julián Alvarez.
And playing a leading role in the capital giants protecting their lead right through the 90th minute was the aforementioned Conor Gallagher.
In the game’s dying moments, midfielder Gallagher was responsible for back-to-back brilliant challenges whilst pressuring Athletic’s backline.
